Things I've Learnt In My Second Year as a Book Blogger

1. I don't have to review every single book I read, even if I feel like I'm cheating 🤣

2. Read at my own pace. Once I start reading because I 'have to' it sucks all the fun out of a hobby I love dearly

3. Some books just aren't for me. And it's perfectly fine to not like every book I read. And it's also OK to say no to publishers/authors if they've asked me to read a book I know I won't like.

4. My opinion matters. Even if my posts get seen by 1% of people on here, my thoughts and feelings towards a book are still valid and important and I don't do this to see how many likes I can get on a post. Remind myself of that when I get disheartened!

5. Engagement is key. Not just for my posts and my follower count but the whole point of this platform is to TALK to others about the books I'm reading and the books they are reading. Without engaging with others, my corner of the Internet can feel even smaller so commenting and replying to stories is the best way to meet people from all over the world and share my passion for reading 📚

6. Life loves to throw us curve balls and that means that sometimes I won't be in the right headspace to read and I'll just want to cozy up on the sofa watching TV. This doesn't mean I'm any less of a reader, it just means I need a break and that's perfectly fine too.

7. (And my final point) I don't need to buy every book I see 🤣 it's so so hard when I see books trending on here to want to go out and buy it immediately but that's an expensive game to play and just because I don't own the book EVERYONE seems to have, doesn't make me irrelevant...it makes me different and I need to remind myself of that every now and then…

So here are just some thoughts I've had over the past year that have made my second year as a book blogger even better than the first! These little takeaways are a great way of reminding myself that I do this for fun and when it is no longer fun, then it's a good time to part ways or just have a little break for a while which I did a number of times last year!

For now though, I'm thoroughly enjoying being STUCK IN THE BOOK 📖💗📖💗
